The beautiful golf resort of Alhaurin Golf overlooks the Sierra de Mijas Hills and is located just 20 minutes drive from the Mijas coast and 25 minutes from Malaga and Marbella.
The resort offers an 18 hole golf course designed by Severiano Ballesteros. The course is hilly since it follows the natural contours of the landscape which certainly make it a challenge with every hole being different and encouraging players to use all the clubs in their bags. That said, the course management have
recently been making changes to the course to make it more user friendly. The changes include: remodelling parts of the course; re-siting bunkers and tees; widening fairways and cutting back vegetation. The course is well maintained and the natural Mediterranean forest vegetation which surrounds it includes, pine, oak, cypress and orange trees.
The resort also offers a 9 hole par 3 course together with a driving range, chipping green and putting green area.
For visitors wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of the coast the resort also offers the Alhaurin Golf & Country Club**** which is an excellent hotel at great value. Also worth a visit is La Ventilla restaurant which adjoins the hotel. Altogether worth the drive.
